Poor Three, always the last thing humans say before regretting their decisions mid-air.

  3. Universeintheflesh Avatar

Yeah, most people aren’t using numbers when jumping from high places, it is usually more ahhhhhh!!!!!!!

  4. MotherPotential Avatar

I wonder if a significant amount of non-American cultures count forward more often

  5. IAmNotTheBabushka Avatar

You count up 1, 2, 3 instead of counting down??

  6. DraiochtRed Avatar

    My family liked:

    One for the money,
    Two for the show,
    Three to get ready,
    And Four to go!

  7. TheZerothLaw Avatar

Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.

  8. Apprehensive-Care20z Avatar

you mean they shout “one”, everyone counts down.

  9. Dilbert_Durango Avatar

We’ve been studying these things called “humans” and apparently they have this ritual where they yell the word “three” really loud and then try and fall to their death. However for some reason they prefer it when the ritual fails and they don’t die. Truly fascinating creatures.

Most people probably shout “Four!” Looking up at the sky the most

I would Have guessed it would be “no, wait”
If you compared to anything people say. But as far as numbers go .. ok

    “Shoulda yelled two!”

But… Do we go on three, or like, 1, 2, 3, and then go?

  14. Rich_Marsupial_418 Avatar

“True, though I reckon ‘One’ gets a fair shout in the kitchen when I’m taste-testing my chili!

  15. CerberusC24 Avatar

I’d argue there’s an equal chance of 1 since people like to count down as well

  16. Reetpigmee Avatar

Statistically speaking probably as much as “One!”.

  17. Rok-SFG Avatar

sān,  tres , three   in likely hood based off native speakers

Lots of people are speculating here, so I’ll just throw in my two cents. The standard BASE jump countdown is 3-2-1 see ya (or some other end phrase like dream, let’s go, send it, etc.). And I’ve seen this across a few countries and in different languages. It’s easier to commit when counting down, and five is arguably too much time for reflection.

My grandmother throws things on “two” for some reason. Really catches you off guard.

  20. ash2102 Avatar

Adding on to this… people shouting “Kobe!” when they shoot something into the trash can

  21. Mono_Morphs Avatar

But wait, isn’t 1 and 2 also in this usage that 3 is? If so, then also you could hypothesize that the most common number to be uttered while on a bridge is 1. With 2 coming in at 2nd.

  22. sockpunch7 Avatar

Just for this, I’m joining the American party and yelling any number other than 1 or 3 before jumping

  23. Gunner9119 Avatar

Wouldn’t 1 be more common as most people count down?

When you count up you can keep counting and extend the time until you jump. When you count down there’s nothing after 1 except fractions!

  24. OkSalt6173 Avatar

    People say 1, 2, 3? And not 3, 2, 1?

Am I the odd one for always counting down?

  25. cryptohypno273 Avatar

More people have shouted two before being pushed than any other number

  26. 0K4M1 Avatar

Probably on par with “Wait !”, “No”, “Fuck…”
