Most people don’t actually want peace and quiet-they just want t control when other people make noise.

r/

Everyone’s suddenly allergic to the sound of kids playing, a phone call in public, or someone walking too loud upstairs. But the same people will blast music, rev their engines, or talk on speaker like it’s their personal stage. It’s not about volume-it’s about control. If the noise isn’t coming from them, it’s problem. We have turned quiet into a weapon to shame others for simply existing in shared spaces. Newsflash: Living around other humans means hearing them sometimes. That’s not disrespect- it’s just life.

You’ll understand when you have a 5 YO that talks every second they are physically conscious, let’s talk then.

Definitely disagree with this take. It’s not about control but an individuals desire for peace and quiet is not going to necessarily avoid overlapping with the times they are ok with noisy

I just have the expectation of people being considerate, the argument that living around people means you’ll hear noise can be applied to the people making the noise. You live around other people, you can’t expect to be loud all the time lol

bro! I went to your profile thinking “oh yeah this dude I bet it just super loud”

You posted about anxiety ? but don’t get people that are sensitive to sound ? rude.
