The reason I have a beef with red apples is both because of the taste and texture but mostly the texture. It’s really rough and gets way worse the more I chew it. It’s actually really good when you bake it for desserts but I can’t eat that fruit by itself. It also tastes way too sweet like honey, so that’s also a reason I dislike it. On the other hand, that’s the reason some people love it.

It’s a texture thing
I work in a produce department at fancy co-op and I’ll never understand people’s obsession with apples. They get so picky about it and freak out when it’s local apple season…but they all just taste fine to me🤷♂️ it’s a very mundane human experience
Are you talking about Red Delicious apples? or just red apples in general?
Found the doctor
Are you SnowWhite?
You’re right and you should say it.
If you think Honeycrip, Cosmic Crisp, or any of the new varieties of red apples taste horrible, maybe you just don’t like apples.
I love red apples, when they’re crisp and juicy… I hate when I get a mealy one… bleh…
If you mean red delicious then yes. They are not delicious and the worst apple
You have clearly never had the cosmic crisp. You’d crap your pants how good it is
Pink Ladies or I don’t eat it.
So interesting to observe people’s reactions to texture of foods. I hate cooked apples, me. And the two most disappointing desserts I know of are pumpkin pie and apple pie. They taste bland, they feel mushy, yet very much like a sanded wall spackling product. Exactly like any overcooked vegetable.
Hell yeah with that absolutely disgusting sugary flour texture
I felt like this for a big portion of my life because my parents only bought red delicious apples, which are like 100% red and 0% delicious.
Started branching out as an adult (shit was that a tree pun? I’m not deleting it) and tried Fuji, honeycrisp, cosmic, and some others.
I think they’re great for the most part. Almost every red apple I’ve had that wasn’t a red delicious is great at peak ripeness. But they all go bland and nasty after a couple days, eat them right away.
Agreed. The only red apple I like is the honeycrisp one. Every other red apple is disgusting 🤢🤢
Green apple supremacy
I, personally, am a fan of granny Smith apples. My one gripe with them is that the skin is thick, but it’s a minor complaint.
Color👏 does 👏not👏determine 👏the👏 flavor👏 profile👏 of 👏apples.
Sincerely, an apple grower ripping their hair out.
Apparently there used to be over 100 varieties of apple, just be grateful for the one we have left
The taste isn’t based on color, but cultivar. A cosmic crisp might change your life!
Im getting goosebumps (the uncomfortable ones) if my tongue touches its skin. So i agree.
A crispy honey crisp is fire 🔥
I don’t dislike apples in general, but I do find the newer cultivars to be much too sweet. I prefer a subdued sweetness. Also, my favorite apple to just munch on is Granny Smith, so take my distaste with a grain of salt lmfao.
Crazy! I love gala apple but developed an allergy after eating them my entire life. I’m devastated by the loss.
Yellow is the best apple on average, but when a good red apple hits, it hits
I think red delicious taste and feel bad but I like a lot of others that are red or pink.
As someone who spends 300+ days a year in hotels it pisses me off to no end that every hotel only provides those GARBAGE red delicious apples. They taste like shit. Get some Granny Smiths for God’s sake.
Once I found Gala apples, I gave up all other red apples.
Macintosh are red. I love their texture. They ‘burst’ and have a soft silky texture. And a tartness.
I assume this means you like Golden Delicious?
OMGG SAMEEEE!! green apples are WAY better
