You get little setting areas right out your door. Your room is right next to your car so not only do you not have to deal with lobbies and elevators. You can leave all your belongings right in the trunk until you need them. You can grill outside your room and often have aittle porch area. You can even haveittle parking lot parties with a cooler and boom box and invite the other people over for a burger and a beer. They are also way cheaper. Motels are so much more comfortable and convient than boujee ass hotels.

No. It’s way more sketchy, in regard to usually the area and the people involved.
Motels seem to be more popular in bad/dangerous areas. Though all your hotel gripes are accurate, there are a lot more shady/scary motels than hotels
For me (and I assume many others) the issue is basic standards of cleanliness. You can’t trust a motel.
Location makes motels a feast or famine experience a lot of the time, mostly famine.
I had to stay in Motel 6 near John Wayne airport because of sewage backup in my apartment and keep budget under my renters coverage. Whole place reeked of weed, was dirty, and looked to be in unsafe area.
