Movie trailers spoil the experience

I genuinely don’t understand why people insist on watching movie trailers or reading reviews before seeing a film. To me, it completely kills the magic. Trailers nowadays aren’t just little teases, they’re full-on condensed versions of the entire movie. Plot twists, key emotional beats, even jokes are all laid out like a checklist.

I want to be surprised. I want to go in not knowing what’s going to happen, to experience the story the way it was meant to be told as it unfolds. But by the time most people sit down in the theater, they already know who lives, who dies, and basically how it ends. What’s the point?

People claim they watch trailers to “see if it’s worth watching,” but that’s like reading the last chapter of a book to decide if you want to start it.
