Movie/TV Show opening credits

r/

The first episode in a series is justified for having an opening credit scene or montage, but after that it seems like a stupid waste of time and money. Every single episode does not need all that BS. We get it. Please provide the meat without the digital fat.

Not fully disagreeing but how is it a waste of money if they made it for ep 1 and then keep using it?

I respect a good opening credits. Good ones set a tone and get people settled in for the show.

It’s a bigger waste of money if it’s only used for 1 episode. Plus, if they keep using it, it’s a minute less of show they need to write and record.

Some title sequences are so great you want to watch them from beginning to end. Either because of the music or because of the visuals and sometimes both. Many TV series in the past had fabulous tittle sequences, A relatively recent example is Game of Thrones. That is a title sequence that grabs your attention.
