Almost every single movie trailer I have ever seen reveals way too much information. I don’t want to go into the movie knowing exactly what’s going to happen in this scene, how what’s happening right now may seem insignificant but will be relevant later, or anything in between. I think maybe just a short teaser showcasing the basic idea of the movie would be best

That’s why the iron lung trailer is perfect
Movie trailers should have the main cast and the directors talking/bragging about the movie they made like a kid who drew a car
I have definitely watched comedy trailers where every single funny line was in the trailer. So then the whole movie kinda isn’t funny now.
Can we also do away with animated logos before the movie. Blumhouse, Clouddance, I don’t care. Why do I have sit through 3 full minutes of like ten of these.
You don’t have to watch trailers. Like, even at cinemas you can just go in late.
I never watch movie trailers and you can, too!
I also never read reviews, so I go into every movie free of expectations and biases, and it’s so refreshing!
I love movies with deceptive trailers. They build up a whole idea of a movie, then you see it and it’s a total slap to the face of unexpectedness. Those trailers I like
It’s pretty easy to avoid if you don’t want to see them
I don’t think I even knew what the villain was in the dark knight because I basically didn’t watch TV or use social media
Largely agree. I will watch the first 15s of a trailer then cut it off. There are surely exceptions but in large part I agree.
I don’t remember trailers being so revealing when I was younger
I try not to watch movie trailers. I want everything to be a surprise.
Sure. But if I don’t see trailers then I’d have no knowledge of the movie so wouldn’t go to see it.
28 Days Later is how to do a trailer. It shows just enough to tease you and tempt you and show you what the movie is gonna be about. But gives nothing away.
Compare to some trailers like that recent film about the hitman at the concert which was a trap for him. The trailers spoiled the fact he got out of the concert and got back to his home, thus completely killing any possible tension at all.
Amen
I don’t think they need to be removed entirely, but they definitely need to tone down the amount of plot they show in the trailer.
Yes. This is the type of opinion that we need.
A while ago I looked at trailers and felt like they needed or wanted to tell you what the ending was?
Zoomers and their weird terror of being spoiled.
