Moving across country to BF – should we split move expenses?

r/

My bf (31M) and I (30F) are planning on moving in together since we are expecting a baby in about six months. He currently lives on the East Coast and I live in the Midwest.

The plan is for me to move to him since I work remote and he doesn’t.

Because we’re not married and don’t have combined finances yet, I feel it would be fair for us to split the cost of the move but my BF does not feel like this is necessary or that he can swing it right now financially (I told him this months ago so he could plan ahead and we make the same amount).

Feeling frustrated – am I being unreasonable or is this worth the argument?

TLDR; boyfriend won’t split moving expenses for me even though I’m pregnant and we make the same amount

Personally, I wouldn’t move across the country for somebody that wouldn’t split moving costs with his pregnant girlfriend; let alone help her move. If I were him, I’d be taking care of my pregnant girlfriend and footing the bill if the move-in was a serious stepping stone.

How will you be splitting the cost once you move in? Is his rent / cost of living higher than yours? Have you guys talked
About the cost of having a child, and how you will split the cost?
