Hey…i am BSc life science student, with major 8n biotech, currently gonna complete my 2nd year.
Till now, i feel pressurized to figure out what wanna pursue my msc in, since i have many things and interests i wanna explore irrespective of what i study in, but at the same time scope and money also matters the most. I have interest in biotechnology and a hint of molbio and immunology too, i also would like to explore bioinfo since it is growing so muchh…and it’s veryy skillfully demanding bht i have never been exposed to any programming skills, even with respect to wet labs in biotech, my college is pretty shitty regarding that…its clearly a tier 3…so yeah HELP ME figure it out, if i should go for biotech or bioinfo
(Tbh…i would wanna explore bioinformatics becoz of ita demand, but i have self doubts, and iam weak at maths)

I’d say go with that is truly in your heart so you’ll not have to wonder what it would have been if you choose otherwise.
If you are afraid that you don’t have any programming skills, you can learn them as long as you’re passionate. You can even take up extra lessons along side the program.
But if you decide you’ll want to be able to pass your classes because you have a solid foundation in molecular biology and Immunology as you put it, then biotech is the right choice.
I’m a biomed student myself, and currently have a module on biotechnology, and I find that it’s actually quite diverse. But my focus is on red biotechnology and I guess that would be your focus since you’re talking about immunology…
Bioinformatics on the other hand, is a niche field. If you love molecular genetics and sequencing to diagnose and treat complex diseases like cancer, then you will enjoy it.
And if you have access to people already in either of the field you’re interested in, reach out to them and ask them more about their work so you make an informed decision.
Wishing you all the best!
