We’ve (18f and 18m) been dating for a year and 2 months now, and honestly I love him to pieces. He’s my favourite everything and I can’t imagine my life without him.
Lately though he’s been playing games with his friends, which I’d be perfectly fine with if he would tell me. Instead, he leaves for 7, 8, 9 hours before coming back with a simple “hey babe, sorry I forgot.”
I’ve told him a few times that I just want to know what’s happening, and that I don’t care so long as he tells me he’s playing games with his friends. It happened yesterday and we got into a pretty heated argument about it where he told me that playing games “certainly made me happy” and how he “didn’t want to deal with it [me] so I played games.”
I love this man heaps but honestly it hurts. He told me to go over to his tonight so we could talk in person and hang out, but after I finished work I saw the message “with [friends name]. so sorry.”
Am I being overdramatic? I can’t imagine ever leaving him, but it hurts that he just doesn’t care about my feelings or doesn’t want to deal with them so he just vanishes. Any advice?

start by gently asking him what’s going on. stay calm, open and listen. weird behavior can come from stress, distance or something deeper, but communication is the only way to know for sure. trust your gut, but give him space to be honest too
Bit overdramatic considering you two are so young. Why do you need to know what he is doing? You’re not his mother and at your age a relationship shouldnt be 100% consuming each others lives. I think you should slow down and enjoy your youth/ stop being overbearing on him
Communication is key in any relationship. If he can’t respect your feelings and keeps pushing you aside for games, then maybe it’s time for a re-evaluation. You deserve someone who prioritizes you.
