This is awkward as fuck. I matched with this girl on a dating app and we’d been talking for like 2 weeks. She seemed really cool and we had a lot in common. We finally decided to meet up for coffee yesterday and the conversation was going great until she mentions my cousin’s name. Turns out they dated for like 6 months last year and it ended pretty badly. She had no idea we were related until I mentioned my cousin (we were talking about relatives) and then we both just sat there in silence for like 5 seconds. The whole thing was so uncomfortable. She’s actually really nice and we both really like each other and under different circumstances I think we could have hit it off but this just feels too weird. I don’t even know if I should tell my cousin about this or just let it go because I really like her, but knowing the fact that she dated my cousin is something that will always be brought up during conversations in case I actually decide to date her.
My dating app match turned out to be my cousin’s ex

If you really like her, you can still date her, right?
I don’t really see the problem. Just talk to your cousin, explain. Maybe it’s a bit weird at first but if he cares about you, he’d allow you to be happy with her.
Just be a g and leave it alone. Bros before potential suitors.
