My employer essentially did a bait and switch on me and unsure if there is anything I can do about it.

My employer that I’ve worked for about 6 years did something I am unsure if there is anything I can do.

I started out full time for about 3 ish years, change job title still full time for another 1 and half. Then went to nursing school, and then went part time as a nurse I believe around March for them to then agree to a full time job with a certain set up recently.

I was to work at my original location for the weekend and then work at the other location for M,W,F.

Today, the I started training at the new location I was working at, a woman came to bring me a letter stating my position at the other location will be cut due to over staffing.

I feel stuck because they gave me tuition reimbursement and I don’t wanna up and quit to pay and plus I absolutely adored the people I worked for and with. But I feel taken advantage of.

I have the letter still.

I am now to work full time at the other location.

I was technically supposed to start working Sept 1st but that was Labor Day and their offices were closed.

It should also maybe worth mentioning that I ended up working a 20 hour shift with no break while I was part time. Tho I feel there isn’t much I can do about it but figured to mention it cuz it violated labor laws even tho I agreed to do it.

I have texts from a director of the program I covered a shift for who was aware I was working and all that.

It’s not relevant to the main issue but wondered if even that was illegal to have done.

And I guess maybe it’s worth mentioning they are a non-profit organization.
