My(20f) ex boyfriend (46m) has been harassing me through multiple numbers and social media profiles for a month or so now and there is already an order for him to stop telephone harassment. Yesterday I received a phone call from a man who asked for me by name and said he was “Responding to my advertisement.” I immediately knew it was my ex as things with his crys for attention from me have been escalating more an more. I asked the man to send a photo to my number and he did. I don’t technically have proof that my ex did this, but I have documentation of the other things he has done and have reported every as it happens to the police. The officer I spoke to yesterday said there was nothing I could do about it except ask the business to clean the sharpie off, which I had a friend handle for me as they are a previous employee of the store it happened in and friends with other employees. Is there really nothing I can do? The officer said it was “like Facebook and not illegal other than graffiti.” I have never been through anything like this and would really appreciate any advice.
