Hi All, I will try to be brief here.
My gf was working for a piece of shit company, super toxic up until a month ago. Cut bonuses without explanation, shitty conditions etc.
She had a 1 year contract, quit after 6 months and would owe them 6 months×50% of the unpaid salary. She quit for mental health reasons, has a paper about it as well, so it wasnt without reason and according to the contract as far as I know that sufficent grounds not to pay.
They sent her a legal letter saying she needs to pay in 7 days, (even tho hr said she has like 4-5 months), that was more than 7 days ago, nothing happened.
She quit, all documents submitted, all good, now she is working for another company.
Yesterday her previous company’s hr reached out claiming that the end date on her contract is wrong and she has to sign a doc to change it, claiming it’s all administrative stuff.
My question is, why? Like they never cared about anything when she was there, now that she left, they are being super polite about an administrative change that they messed up? Feels super sus, she wont sign anything of course

I’m not a lawyer also looking for advice but I’d think if it’s on a legal binding document it’s their fault for not setting terms how they’d like and they can’t just change it now because they don’t like it. A contract is a legal agreement between two party’s you can’t just change it bc one party doesn’t like the terms
