My husband has a sore- don’t know how to react

r/

My(32f) husband (33m) has what looks like a blister on his junk, it literally looks like when you get a blister on your heel after getting new shoes and then when it pops open and the skin peels back. It appeared a day after shower “activities” with myself. He thinks it’s due to friction with myself but I don’t have anything like that. I can’t help but feel suspicious that he may be cheating and it’s an STI. I’ve been telling him he should go to the dr to get it looked at, and I’ve jokingly brought up that it may be an STI but he brushed it off. I do not think he is unfaithful and I don’t want to come across of untrusting, but it could always be a possibility.
I have a dr appointment this week coincidentally for a Pap smear. Should I ask for STI testing just to be safe? Also if anyone knows how to treat this that would be great as he is very uncomfortable. Currently using Vaseline.

    Yes. Safety first. Get tested.

“It appeared a day after shower “activities” with myself.”

So it was not there in any way, shape or form before the fun in the shower?

Ask your doctor for his opinion and definitely get yourself tested.

Absolutely you should get an STI panel done

    Get the screening.

Also, get him to Urgent Care.

I doubt it’s an std. To my knowledge only herpes gives blister like symptoms. And it’s a cluster of small ones, not one big one.

Could be friction, could be an allergic reaction. Anyway needs to be checked out.

So just gonna throw this out there but it could be hsv2. If it is, its the most common one so much so that if you want to get screened for it you have to ask for it to be included in the screen. As for how he got it, well several ways, If these sores are new and not something that he just hasn’t been paying attention to, then 1, He cheated. 2 the virus can live on surfaces for a bit and he got it that way. 3 had it from a former partner and didn’t know about it and it finally surfaced 4 you are a silent carrier and he got it now and is having an outbreak. But it could be from him beating his meat too roughly too. All this with a grain of salt. but get tested to be 100% certain.

Sounds like he needs a course of acyclovir or similar. You should absolutely get tested ASAP, he should also. Best recommendation is he goes to the Dr while he still has the sore/open wound.

Ingrown hair? Just trying to think of what else it could be aside from worst case scenarios

Herpes can cause blisters, doesn’t mean he cheated either, that stuff can lay dormant for years – think it’d be itchy if this… Other than that, I remember giving my guy a huge blister – round his head (not the one attached to his neck unfortunately), absolutely freaked me out… Bought shares in lube after that haha

Herpes can be dormant for many years, even decades. Recommend the panel for both of you.
