Location: Florida. My mom is threatening to sue me for visitation with my daughter. This all started because I asked her to stop forcing her religious views on my children, to stop texting and driving while she is transporting them, (she sends me selfies while on the interstate with my children, and has been pulled over for texting and driving while transporting my daughter) and telling people at her church that my son is autistic and putting him in “autism rooms”. (He is undiagnosed, and on grade level with other children his age) All I asked for was a respect of boundaries, and she responded with a barrage of insults before blocking me. She unblocked me to tell me she’s getting a lawyer to sue for visitation, insinuating that I must be using drugs if I don’t want her seeing my children every week. I’m 100% sober, as is my girlfriend, the mother of my daughter. Her son is from a past relationship but I play an active parenting role to him. My mom is not related to him. She’s crazy right? Anything I’ve googled or asked AI about pretty much says she has absolutely no case. But she seems so confident it’s genuinely making me question whether or not I’m right in this.

NAL. She can threaten all she wants. But she doesn’t have a case in any state. Not one that she’ll win at least.
In Florida, grandparents can generally only get court-ordered visitation if the parents are unfit, missing, dead or incarcerated. Even then, it must be shown visitation is in the children’s best interest.
If you get any notification to appear in court, make sure you show up. Don’t accept any offers made by your mother or her lawyer. Get copies of school and medical records to show the kids are being properly cared for, and keep copies of those selfies and insulting texts.
I think police reports are public records, you should check and see if they are and get copies of the ones where she was stopped while endangering your kids
