Need some help with my apartment

Hello, I’m a 23yr male, I have been trying to figure if I have a case legally with my apartment. For some back story on June of this year I went to my apartment to grab a couple things and feed my cat. While entering I found that part of my roof had fallen in due to rain. It had fallen in where my dining room and kitchen meet so and it’s covered in sheet rock and insulation to were I have to step around to even get to my kitchen i also had standing water in my living room that stretched to my couch and it has caused some damage to that as well but i unfortunately don’t have renters insurance but prior that day my apartment complex had roofers come out to redo said roof and I guess they left a gap in the roof which caused the damage, luckily my cat wasn’t injured just very scared, anyway I called my complex’s emergency line to see if someone can come out and at least look at it and see what kind of game plan there will be, I waited for an hour and a half and no one showed up I decided to take pictures just to show my property management the next day if they haven’t gone in my apartment yet , I called the next morning to see if anything has been checked, my property manager said that they did go look and said they are waiting on their upper management to approve doing work on it, I asked since I’m not living there and there is insulation all over the floor I don’t see it being livable would I still be liable for rent, they said they don’t know they’ll leave a note for the head property manager and have them call you and ask I said okay and left it at that I waited a couple of days to a week. I saw that finally they had maintenance go in there and see, they went with a empty trash can and came out with an empty trash can saying it should be the roofers cleaning it up, so I decided to call my complex’s again to see if they have any updates, they said they are waiting on sheet rock to patch it and that it should be done soon I then asked if I would still be required to pay rent because it’s not livable with medical issues(I have heart and Respiratory issues), they said since you can still sleep there since it’s just in the dining room it’s livable I said okay but I have respiratory issues and heart issues and the insulation floating in the air is gonna cause me to have problems that I can’t afford and they said it’s still livable since you can sleep there, I said okay. It has been almost a month and nothing has been done no progress has been made and I have heard nothing from my property management.

Would I possibly have a case if this goes on for much longer?
