Need some menstrual disc help

r/

Ladies who use menstrual disc, need some guidance. I got myself one. And inserted it today, went it in so smoothly, so much better than tampon I was trying. But it was too smooth, it went right in and it doesn’t have a ‘tab’ to pull it out. I do not know if it is positioned correctly because I didn’t tuck it behind the pubic bone. I’m also panicking a bit wondering how I’ll pull it out even though I haven’t tried too yet. I guess I need someone to help me calm down a bit.

Just hook your finger into it to remove. Don’t worry, it won’t disappear in there.

I haven’t used the disc but I’m team cup! I like that the cup has a little tab to pull it. I know that doesn’t help you right now but something to think about. For now, try to relax your pelvic floor muscles for a bit. I think tensing will make it harder to get out. Try and soothe a bit and wait and see next time you pee if you can reach it.

If it doesn’t move and your don’t feel it come out then it’s most likely positioned correctly!

I think you’ll discover whether the disc is positioned correctly when you next go to the toilet, because there will or won’t be blood. I never used a menstrual disc, but I had a diaphragm for contraception and I think they’re pretty similar. It will come out, you will be able to find it with a finger, don’t worry! And if it went in easily, rejoice! I can’t tell you how often I wrestled with my cup.
