Location: Massachusetts
Hello, we reside in Massachusetts which is a hotspot for Lyme disease. Our neighbor is an investor that has abandoned their property. The property’s lawn has overgrowth of more than 12 inches in length. The TL;DR we don’t even know which kind of attorney can help us with the issue below
As such, our lawn is infested with ticks despite our landscaping company mowing our lawn on a weekly basis and pest control
We are pulling 2-3 ticks on our dogs per day despite giving them flea and tick medication. The only thing that has kinda worked is spraying them with cedarcide. Mind you, these are short coat dachshunds. Not long hair dogs
Ticks are now getting on us as a result. My wife recently found one on her chest
We tried contacting the HOA and emphasizing the health risk. They did nothing besides mail the owner (who do not live there)
We also tried contacting the towns director of Inspectional Services and including timestamp evidence and the specific code of ordinances the neighbor is violating, Secs. 12-61—12-65
We have all of these correspondence time stamped and in writing. We also tried find the owner’s phone and reaching out to them directly
We put the most recent tick in a bag just in case my wife gets sick and she’s going to the doctor tomorrow
This neighbors yard is also attracting Coyote prey and we spotted a Coyote on their overgrown lawn. Thankfully we have time stamped photo of that too
We don’t know what attorney to even reach out to. This isn’t your typical real estate transaction. This is full blown health risk. We’re in constant fear of getting Lyme disease here. We can’t enjoy our lawn that I have spent so much time and money trying to treat
