A few days ago, I was jogging in my neighborhood when my neighbor’s pitbull came out of nowhere and attacked my leg. It was bad enough that I had to go to urgent care for stitches and a tetanus shot. The dog’s owner came out yelling at me, saying I must have provoked the dog by running past their house too quickly. They also claimed their dog is “normally friendly” and that this is somehow my fault.
I reported the bite to animal control, and it turns out the dog isn’t up-to-date on its rabies shots. Now the owner is threatening to sue me for “harassment” because I filed a report and told them I’d be seeking compensation for my medical bills.
I’ve already contacted some lawyers through Suable AI, and I’m working with one of them to file my case against the dog’s owner. But I’m worried about this turning into a long legal battle. Can they actually sue me for this? And what are my chances of getting them to cover my medical expenses? Any advice would be appreciated

They can’t sue you. I would say odds are 99% they cover your bills. Whether they due it willingly or are compelled by a court, they will pay up
This is what your lawyer is for. If this wasn’t just an ad for whatever stupid product Suable AI is, you would discuss things with your lawyer
