Netflix suggestions?

r/

I recently got access to Netflix for the first time since they took away password sharing and I’m caught up on Bridgerton and Squid Game. Have they released any shows or movies over the last year or so that you’d recommend?

I promise this isn’t some sort of ad, I just want suggestions because I quit keeping up with their releases 😅

Mr. Sunshine. I had never watched a Kdrama before and I fell absolutely in love with it. It’s incredibly beautiful. I watched it a second time almost immediately. Mr. Sunshine stars Lee Byung-hun from Squid Game.

I’m now watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo. I am enjoying it but it’s divisive- the main character is autistic played by a non-autistic actor, and from what I’ve read, autistic people seem to either love or hate it (and I absolutely understand their reasoning on both sides.) So that’s something to be aware of. I think it’s a sweet show with some really likeable characters, but I get why it’s controversial.

A feel good show I enjoy is Somebody Feed Phil. It’s Anthony Bourdain adjacent. Family friendly though. Travel and food show. I like it as a chaser to heavier stuff like Squid Game.

My friend got me hooked on ‘Call the Midwife’ when I was pregnant. Eleven seasons that you can binge or savor at a slow pace. Heartfelt, woman-centered, diverse, progressive, and all without swear words.

I’ve been really liking The Residence. It’s been fun and quirky.
