Maybe I’m the only one, but I think Nickelback is better than Red Hot Chili Peppers. I think RHCP is severely overhyped. All their songs kind of blend and are hard to pick a part. It’s ironic b/c I know this is what Nickelback is critiqued for as well, but I personally don’t see it. Yes, I will agree that ‘Photograph’ is kind of a meme song, but I think many others are pretty good.

RHCP have some good songs but the lead singer just is not very good at singing which prevents them from ever being a great band in my opinion.
Nickelback are middle of the road for me. The vocals are significantly better than RHCP’s but the instrumentation is less interesting.
Neither band is great but Nickelback certainly don’t deserve universal hatred and RHCP are a bit overrated.
I have no real quarrel with Nickelback like some do, but for something that’s otherwise completely subjective, I don’t know how to argue this.
