Pretty much the title.
So many people think that they have full ownership of their belief systems. Nothing can be farther from the truth. You and everyone else is not immune from propaganda. We are so easily manipulated by what we see, hear from social media, news outlets, and everything else in between.
I’m reading the 1984 now and also reflecting on the war. Interestingly enough, they support the war over there. Who am I to say that I’m smarter than them that if I was born into the the same fascist society, that I’d have a different opinion as everyone else.
Not to mention how so much of us live on our own echo chambers. What’s quite disturbing about this is that it’s so hard to identify whether what I believe is objectively true and free from influence of everything else around me.

This made me reflect on my own beliefs! I always thoughts others would be influenced but not me. But that makes no sense
The people most vulnerable to propaganda are the people convinced they’re immune to it.
Nuh uh I am immune
It seems you’re saying that because one has beliefs, that it is because of propaganda. I’m not so sure this is how beliefs work at their core.
It’s pretty easy to differentiate facts from opinions.
If you can prove it, it’s a fact.
If you can’t prove it, it’s an opinion.
That’s why observation and identifying patterns are key. One can’t be naive by coming from a place of logical reasoning.
Facts just go to r/worldnews if you wanna see some brainwashed fuckers
Wrong, you are a Nazi for saying that
I remember first year like it was yesterday.
This is literally how humans work, no one is immune because we aren’t built to be. You can simplify it all the way down to evolutionary instinct; we absorb the lessons, good or bad, from past experiences. Fire = bad. During life you do this passively and that’s fundamentally how propaganda works.
