Non accredited school promised financial aid, made me sign a contract, never received it and ended up paying full financial price out of pocket.

Location: New Jersey. Enrolled in a non accredited ultrasound program February 2024. They said they were in the process of getting accredited, and as a result would be fasfa eligible. There was an out of pocket price of $15,500 and a financial aid price of $24,000. If you wanted financial aid they had you sign a financial aid contract and stated that you would pay weekly until they got their school code. Then once we got that code we would be reimbursed everything we paid that financial aid covered. It’s now July 2025 and they never got financial aid and I ended up paying the $24k out of pocket which was never the plan. I asked her if I caught up to the 15k would she stop payments and she agreed but never did. Once I hit the 15k mark she said since I signed a contract I was obligated to pay and financial aid was still on the way. Also we haven’t been in person in over a year and not provided a clinical site, which was all promised in the contract. Really fed up and just want to know what my options are or if I even have a case to consider to taking action on.

I would hire a lawyer to really take a look at the contract since we can not give you options since we do not know what is in it and the verbiage.
