i would say it’s more like de ja vu is due to something in ur dreams or just a momentary blip in your brain where ur senses feel completely comfortable for a second. Nostalgia is just ur memories although ur dreams are somewhat affected by ur memories and things you’ve seen
One can have nostalgia for a time or place that you were never in. Being nostalgic implies a longing or yearning. Deja vu is a very specific feeling of being in that exact situation, it has nothing to do with longing to be in that situation.
Deja vu is (in theory) your brain “recalling” experiences before they’re properly written to your short term memory which messes with your internal chronology and causes that feeling of “I’ve been here before”. It can also be caused by you truly experiencing something familiar before but your brain having a hiccup in recall and thinking that they are actually the same moment.
Nostalgia is just a result of your brains typical erasure of memories, prioritizing the bad or boring ones, along with the natural fear of things changing outside of your control which leaves you with that feeling of “Wow things used to be so nice”. There’s also the colloquial form of nostalgia that is just thinking back on good memories and isn’t necessarily tied to your fear of death.
But yeah your point is “nostalgia is an emotional lie like deja vu gives you false memories” but you let that hot water run over your melon too long

Nostalgia is just déjà vu stretched over time, like a memory echoing back to remind you of who you were and what mattered most.
the schools are failing our children
Wrong. It’s very different.
the feeling of nostalgia is a really nice feeling for me, whereas de ja vu feels more cool but yet trippy and a little weird

No difference whatsoever?
