Not knowing a brand doesn’t make you unintelligent

r/

The number of times I’ve seen people destroy others (myself included) because they don’t know a brand name or fashion designer is utterly ridiculous.

It’s fine if someone is interested in this and that and knows all the high end and celebrity business if that’s what they are into, but belittling others for not knowing a high-end brand or even if the person is criticising the price tag on an item that has no reason to be the price that it is rather than focusing on the name of one of the 8 billion other humans on earth is disgusting behavior.

Now whether or not the person judged the product’s quality or value incorrectly is a separate topic. But I almost never see someone correct them on the material/sourcing/quality etc to justify the tag. They just belittle the person for not knowing “royalty.”

If you’re one of the people who get treated like that, let me be the first to congratulate you for touching grass and not being on social media 24/7.

I was so confused when people were going crazy over Stanley Cups because I thought they were talking about the hockey trophy

I have introduces SO many things to my partner, because they were sheltered and didn’t have tv, play video games or anything like that growing up, it put in so much perspective because I get excited because can then “show favorite thing”, but it sometimes comes off as ignorance, even though I really mean it not to be.

Some people just don’t know, and that’s okay.
