Looking for any advice, tips or just what to expect. I was called to be a state’s witness in a murder trial.
This happened over 2.5 years ago. I gave a written statement at the time. Since then I have met with the prosecution just once and it was about 11 months ago. They basically handed me my written statement and asked if I remember it and if everything looked correct. That was the extent of the meeting.
They called me last week and said they are going to trial and I will be the first witness. They told me when and where to be. And that was it.
So..I’m not sure what to expect. I don’t feel “prepped” even though I assume it will be nothing more than reading my statement and saying yes that is true. Is it normal to have this little communication in what seems like a pretty serious matter? What can I expect to happen when I arrive at the court and during the testimony?
