In 1984 , I was 24 yrs old had a 2 yr. Old daughter and big dreams to become a midwife someday. I had a feeling having babies at home was going to make a big comeback in the millennium. I enrolled in a private college living in Calif. at the time it was a private college with different branches for different careeer choices. The admin rep told me becoming a certified medical assistant would save me 2 full yrs. In my journey at a community college and all my transcripts and credits were transferable. I graduated about a yr. Later with a 4.0 gpa and moved to Illinois . Got a job right away with a pediatric Dr. and was soon enrolling in college , sent off for my transcripts , and waited and waited and waited ,eventually lost my job for not being able to produce proof or my transcripts or my certificate then found out I had to challenge the state board of Illinois to become certified here to find out my credits weren’t transferable to eventually finding out the college had gone bankruptcy and there were no transcripts no certificates NOTHING , but my tuition had been pd ( well my federal student loan was pd.off) . Now I had no career and I was 10,000 poorer but by now I’m working a different job with little time for school plus I have to start at ground 0 . Fast forward yr after yr I have to stay working full time plus some my family has grown and at most times I was a single mother of 3 I had to keep going and with that my dreams got pushed aside and not the back of my mind I lost hope 40 yrs later I saw a video of these people rallying at a school and the were forming a class action lawsuit against the school also for going bankrupt on them and ruining their hopes and dreams. It was my school so as I’m watching this I realize I of 10,000 and got NOTHING THATS JUST NOT FAIR I ENDED HAVING TO STRUGGLE MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE BECAUSE THIS SCHOOL SHATTERED MY HOPES AND DREAMS. I’d hoped to give my children a wonderful life with everything their hearts desired instead we barely got by with what we needed instead of an abundance as was in my dreams I WANT MY MONEY BACK CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WHERE DO I START ? A lot of students sued and got pd for their shattered dreams where’s mine ??
