I’m a regular gym go-er. I am also immune compromised, and just generally don’t want to get viruses, so I usually wear a mask to the gym. Sometimes I take it off if it gets annoying/sweaty and then I usually start wearing it more consciously if there’s an increase in flu cases, etc.
Today at the gym, I didn’t wear a mask. It’s a holiday and it wasn’t that busy so I decided not to. When I left the gym, there was a note on my car.
In summary it said, “I’m glad you finally stopped wearing that mask, you are too good looking for that.”
WWYD? Usually I ignore crap like this, but I kind of want to ask the management if they have camera footage because I want to know who it is.
It also kind of creeps me out that someone wrote that note and then probably waited in their car to see my reaction. For some reason, I just want to know who it is and I also wonder if it would be important to know in case this escalated.

That is insanely creepy, regardless of what is in the note. This is stalking behavior. Absolutely report it to gym management and ask for help keeping you safe at the gym.
Yeah that’s really creepy. I’d mention it to management and if you really want to know who it is, ask about cameras or if someone saw who left the note on your car. I would just emphasize when you tell them that you have valid reasons for wearing a mask when the facility is crowded or when illnesses are running rampant, and that the note made you feel uncomfortable.
I guess my follow up question to you is, when you find out who it is what is your plan? Do you want to confront them? Are you planning to avoid going to the gym when they’re there?

It’s important to point out this stalker behavior to management and police with guns as well, because it could also be crew members at the gym not just gym goers.
Totally creepy. My guess is the guy, and I am assuming it was a guy, thought you would be flattered. Probably has a crush on you, but is either to shy to approach or thinks approaching would be inappropriate but this would be okay.
If it were me, I would talk to the gym manager. Just say, you don’t want to know who left the note. But you would like the manager to just kindly ask the person not to do it again, and that it came off as creepy.
No one has to get upset. The manager doesn’t feel cornered into kicking the guy out. And if the manager happens to be a man, maybe the creep will listen.

I wear a mask to the gym too. Follow up with management about it. People need to learn to mind their own damn business. I bet the same person who wrote that is the type who would go to the gym sick and cough into the open air while working out.

That’s some shit bird douche bag who cares more about his eye candy than your safety. As a cancer survivor who got done right before the pandemic and was immunocompromised during the beginning months of the pandemic, I got to witness firsthand as people made masks political. I HATE people who politicize public safety like that.
Leave a response note on your car saying: “I am immunocompromised, so I will most definitely be wearing that mask again, and also your behavior is creepy. I have reported it to the gym staff, so I hope you start minding your own business”. Also report it to the staff and get a dash cam.
