So for some context, my house has been in the family for decades, it used have just my grandparents on the deed, but as of the early 2020s it was both my Mom, Dad, and Grandma. My Mom passed away, and as of a year or two ago my Grandma was forced to stay at a nursing home permanently while only going there for rehab. Anyways my Dad has been paying the mortgage since, and since there are not only other people on the deed but there are also minors living here they theoretically shouldnt be able to take the house.
The other day however an appraiser showed up to the house as apparently its looking to be sold. He was shocked to see other people living there as to his knowledge my Grandma was the only one on the deed. Apparently there was a court case back in January we were not even told about where the nursing home presented a deed from the 1970s showing my Grandma as the only living person on it, even though my parents had been added to the deed decades later. Whether they only had an older copy of the deed or they deliberately used it out of malicious intent we do not know, but the tldr is that the house might be at risk even though it very well should not be, and my Dad is looking to get a lawyer. What can we do? If anything? My Dad has not been deliquent on the mortgage payments or anything if that is a question

Have you checked the most recent copy of the deed? Has anyone else been added to it?
Have they secured a POA for your gma?
You don’t seem to be describing any compelling reason grandmothers interest in the home can’t be pursued.
If dad or someone else living is on the deed it would likely be hard or impossible to remove you. If not the house can likely be sold to pay grandma’s care.
Dad needs a lawyer.
