Police officers in the small town of Lawson, Missouri that I live in had me drive my vehicle away from the house that I lived at due to a dispute I was having but nothing super bad, after I showed them that there were no plates on my car at all and that I didn’t have insurance and didn’t think I was even allowed to drive so I didn’t want to drive. They then told me I could drive down to the gas station and see if my plates were in my car and if they were put them back on and if they weren’t they would come back to the house with me and get the plates. So when I got to the gas station the plates weren’t in there and I asked to go back and they said we’re going to wait 24 hours and had me sleep in my car all night long. Even having me drive it to other times saying I was loitering. Again this is with no plates tags or insurance and I had a warrant that they knew about. Then the next day they told me I could drive it back to my house and as I was driving it back they pulled me over and gave me a ticket for no plates no insurance and didn’t do anything about the warrant. What are my options here because this is very unfair.

Next time record the interaction. For now, file an official complaint with the department and then email a copy of the complaint to your City / Town council.
If it’s a really small town then be aware they’ll probably retaliate.
NAL, but this sounds like borderline entrapment, start googling that term.
Hopefully someone can help you out here though 👋
you need a decent lawyer if you’re going to get a judge to think this story is legit.
