Okay what are your favorite fun drinks?!

r/

I’m not talking alcoholic drinks and I also I’m not talking coffee. I don’t drink coffee but I really want to start to get into making fun drinks at home with cute jars and fun ice cubes. I want to make pretty drinks.
I think I can get into matcha but I don’t have all the equipment for it.
I do have some fun ice cube trays in my cart and some fun jars.
I’m thinking more along the lines of like peach iced tea or something that I can make a blueberry syrup with. I don’t know if that makes sense but open to ideas!

I make fun drinks every day LOL. I get all my ideas from Pinterest. My latest one has been frozen passion fruit, coconut milk, and honey blended together. Soooo tart and refreshing and feels like a cocktail even though it’s not 😂

I made some shrubs last year with flavored vinegars and club soda. You wouldn’t think fit works but it does!

This is very basic and not at all gourmet, but I like a cranberry juice with some ginger ale, soda water and lime (and ice, of course.) Very refreshing.

For a warm drink, white hot chocolate. I make a vegan one but you don’t have to. I get oat/almond milk, heat it on the stove and melt some white chocolate in it, at a little sweetener of choice if the white chocolate doesn’t sweeten it enough for you, and a drop of vanilla extract and tiny bit of nutmeg. I actually got the idea like 500 years ago from an episode of Oprah that Martha Stewart was on, she made something similar.

A simple go-to is sparkling water mixed with white grape juice, mixed with grapes and ice — super basic but I have fun plopping the grapes lol

I chill a Turkish apple tea and then add sugary lemonade powder to it. It’s easy and delicious!

I’ve been absolutely chugging rosewater lemonade this summer. I do it with country time, maybe one day I’ll make it fancy with fresh lemons and rose petals.

Kinda lame but I make a slushy with sugar free water enhancer, biosteel electrolytes, and ice.

    My other favourite is horchata💞

I’m constantly mixing random juices, sodas and ingredients so I don’t have many set recipes. But I think you’ll love the long list of aguas frescas from Mexico that you can find; there are fun YouTube shorts about them.

    • I like bissap/agua de Jamaica/hibiscus. Next I wanna try agua de pepina.

    • I do crushed blueberries with maple syrup and lemonade (flat or sparkling).

    • Hot chocolate with 2/3 milk, 1/3 coconut milk and some sea salt. Or regular hot choc with a hint of cinnamon and cayenne pepper. (Worth investing in good chocolate!)

    • Grated ginger + lemon + honey + cinnamon stick boiled together until desired strength — usually for colds, but tbh it’s also simply delicious.

    • Iced green tea (hojicha or similarly robust) with lemon and lavender. I infuse it hot with fresh, crushed lavender, but you could infuse overnight and add lavender syrup instead.

    • Trying my hand at tepache this week with my pineapple leftovers. I tasted it years ago and it was great but never got around to doing it myself.

For me, the trick is to just have lots of ingredients on hand and experiment. I’m not patient enough for recipes and shopping lists most times haha, and I like novelty.

I make hibiscus punch and drink it with fizzy water.

Or Simply Peach juice with Fizzy Water.

    Or herbal fruity iced teas.

I love fun drinks! Right now I’m trying to create a non-alcoholic version of a cocktail I had and loved a few months ago. It was a pandan lime mint coconut concoction. I just made a pandan syrup and have some coconut water, which taste pretty good on their own (though I may need to try using coconut milk instead).

Other things I like to do are juices (which I often find too sweet on their own) with soda water and lemon or lime. I’m also running out of a pomegranate tea I bought in Turkey, so I’ll have to experiment with mulled wine spices in pomegranate juice – don’t know if it’ll work out!

For what it’s worth, I don’t think you need a ton of equipment for matcha – you only really need some kind of small whisk to make sure the clumps break up and mix evenly with the water. Just don’t add all the water at once!

Orange juice, sparkling water, and a splash of raspberry (or any berry) syrup

    Smoothies!

My mom used to make a punch for special occasions when I was a kid. It was 7Up, pineapple juice, and rainbow sherbet.
