only white person at an event?

r/

got invited to an event tomorrow where there’s a good chance I’m going to be the only white person at (lol)

is this something other people would notice/care/judge about? I know the general rule of thumb is that people aren’t usually worried about others and really just focus on themselves, but is this the case here? would it come across like a white person invading a space that isn’t theirs?

I’m not worried about safety, just if most people will judge me.

Depends on what type of event it is, your relation to the event, and how normal you act at it

If you are invited, you should not be worried if you belong there or not. And depending where you are in the world, there is possibility that everyone else has used to being only non-white person in the room and won’t judge or even notice you as the only different one.

Welcome to the average day of a minority.

I wouldn’t overthink this. Someone cared enough to invite you to the event.
