Oreos are trash and overhyped, and we do not need an Oreo variation of every single snack product and baked good in every single grocery store.

Even Oreo has a cookie and cream version of Oreo (Loaded Oreos). We get it, you (and everyone else for some freaking reason) think you’re the best cookie in the world.

You’ve got two different arguments going here, the first of which completely negates the need for you to make your second one. You hate Oreos. Good, unpopular opinion, please go on to explain what it is you hate about them and what cookies are better. But you don’t do that, instead you talk about hating that Oreos are being put into everything else. Who cares? You cheesy times you hate Oreos, do you think anyone would care about you not liking Oreo stuff too? That’s assumed man. What a waste.

Agree fully with this opinion though clearly it’s unpopular because of just how everywhere Oreos are. Don’t see how they beat out chocolate chip tbh.

Have you ever had homemade Oreos? I found a recipe online and they were SO much better than the store bought ones! I slightly underbaked the cookie part so they were a bit softer, and you can add as much of as little of the cream as you want 🤤 (the cream is made with both butter and shortening in this recipe)

I agree actually. I still eat it because I do like them. But its just sugar and fat with a slight chocolate taste to it. I can and have made better versions of it. And also it NEEDS milk to make them editable. You can’t wat a ore without a drink
I think one thing Oreos have going for them—aside from being fun and delicious—is the fact they’re vegan. Anyone can enjoy an Oreo.

This isn’t an Oreo problem, this is an overconsumption problem.
Brands are now partnering with other brands because they are iconic, recognized, and safe. If you see “Oreo flavored” or “Reece’s peanut butter” or “cinnamon toast crunch flavored” you instantly know the flavor. Versus just cookies and cream, etc
Then, because it’s a brand name flavor instead of a normal one, they upcharge. It’s called premiumization. Unnecessary “upgraded” to products while “inferior” and cheaper versions are retired.
And because it works so well, brands are just throwing themselves at each other for extra revenue and recognition. Products that are just cookies and cream or just peanut butter are dying off to their brand name competition.
Listen, beggers can’t be choosers. (One of the only cookies that have a gulten free ver. that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.)

Actually I completely agree with you, having been a Pickup grocery clerk recently. I don’t know how the brand keeps going. The weird varieties certainly weren’t popular with customers I was shopping for. Most ordered plain ones or double-stuffed.
The cookie that sells so well that each of their two most popular skus (original and double stuf) outsells their largest competitor’s entire cookie line. The cookie that Walmart and Target put on the end of the aisle so people know it’s the cookie aisle because that cookie is so popular.

Oreos are disgusting, I hate that it’s generally considered a good cookie. I get sick from them if I eat more than 1 and the chocolate part is weirdly bitter.

On a serious note, I think you’re right that there are too many flavors, but I really enjoy that they’re still “innovating” and trying new things. To me, it’s fun to walk down the cookie aisle and see what new thing Oreo has put out. Some are good, some are crap, but at least it’s new. I feel like no other packaged snack food company is trying new things, besides Doritos perhaps.

I feel that man. I can’t stand Oreos. I don’t understand why they are so loved. My wife and her family love Oreos. They all eat them. My wife will eat some Oreos almost every night. I don’t see the appeal. There are so many other better cookies out there.

I’m going to say I agree with this, much to the disappointment of my friends XD. I find oreos too sweet and just not very tasty in general. I think I have only ever enjoyed eating the mint flavoured press but even then I could only have two at a time, and I haven’t ever thought they were worth buying more of after I finished the packet. Having said that, I do love a good cookies and cream flavoured cheesecake 😋

Oreos are relatively new to England but their existence was known from American TV shows. I bought a pack, excited to see what all the fuss was about. And they kinda suck. Is that it? It’s like a slightly more bitter chocolate bourbon at 5x the price.
