Once you learn how to do it, parallel parking is really easy to pull off. It seems like every time I parallel park, it’s just easier to get my car lined up in the space, as opposed to when I pull in to park. Not to mention that getting out of parallel spaces is generally easier, too. All you have to do is turn your wheel and pull out, instead of having to back out and constantly watch all sides of you.
It makes more sense to have to back up while parking, and then pull forward when leaving a parking space instead of the other way around. To me, it’s easier also because you can use your mirrors to see your back tire and the road, making it easy to park perfectly in a parallel space, as opposed to regular parking where you can’t see where exactly your front tires are on the parking space.

This is completely insane
Are you comparing an empty lane to parallel park in with a packed parking lot for regular parking? Like i guess if you want to use a lop sided comparison in your scenario then the statement holds. But if both are empty or both are packed, parallel is clearly harder.
Learned to parallel park about 20 years ago in driver’s ed. haven’t had to use it once ever since

You know you can back into a parking space, right?
As someone who has to parallel park every single day at home, I wholeheartedly disagree. I have had plenty of times where I just mess up parallel parking and have to redo it more than once to get into a spot. Not sure why it happens, but I have never had an issue with pulling in or out of a regular spot. Even a really tight spot is still easier than parallel parking lmao
Parallel parking itself is fine, but if you’re in traffic and you suddenly stop and want to back up to park and you have cars lined up behind you it’s not going to work.
My issue with parallel parking is that I see a spot, I signal, slow down to approach it, and then the car behind me doesn’t leave room for me to back into it. Infuriating!
Easier, I suppose COULD be a matter of preference but I highly disagree.
More efficient? No. Literally just no. Cars do not magically take less space in parallel parking; the same amount of space is taken, just in a different direction. You do not magically use less gas. You do not magically save time. I do not see what metric you could POSSIBLY be using to claim it is more efficient.
I personally hate parallel parking because people CAN get you stuck in your spot if they park in front of you and behind you too close, ending up wasting time. That is less likely to happen in a normal parking space in my experience.
Your opinion is unpopular for a reason.
Parallel parking and backing into spaces for the win. I agree w this
