If you drink beer, you know exactly what I mean. You casually mention that you’re drinking a beer, or you choose a beer as your favorite alcoholic beverage, and someone just always feels the need to chime in and say something like, “gotta love that piss water” or “yuck, beer is so gross.”
Yeah okay I get it, you don’t like beer. I probably don’t like some of the stuff you drink either but I’m not being a pest about it that obsesses over mentioning how much I dislike it. If someone doesn’t like beer, they’ll be sure to let you know apparently.
Also as a side note drinking mixed drinks isn’t “girly” like some turbo masculine dudes like to claim, it’s because they taste good.

Beer is good, beer is good, and stuff!
I find it annoying when people (specifically vegans) make specific things their whole personality. I don’t see “beer haters” making their distaste of beer their whole personality. Unpopular opinion… check. (Edited for clarity)
I absolutely hate beer, but if people want to drink it, that’s their business. I’m not gonna tell them that it’s crap just because I think it’s crap if they enjoy it that’s fine. Let them enjoy it. I much prefer mixed drinks👍🏻
People who don’t like beer are annoying, that’s not unpopular
I just hate when they say they hate beer and you say your fine with it and that it’s ok, you’re not a fan of __, and then they continue to say “no, not even close, all beer is disgusting and tastes the same”. Like damn, I’m saying your opinion is wrong, I’m just trying to make conversation and say my opinion/taste to compare.
People just shouldn’t yuck other’s yum
Yeah I don’t really like beer, but the only time I really mention it is when my preferences might be relevant. If we’re talking about alcohol or if I myself am drinking it.
I’ve never heard this in my life but if I did it would be annoying yes
I don’t like beer but I never shoved that in someone’s face, definitely annoying. Upvoting.
As a beer hater, I don’t bring it up until someone asks me why I’m not drinking beer. I get annoyed when people find out I don’t like beer then they say “oh well you haven’t tried the wheat IPA ale beer from a Colorado mountain’s ass crack. Like no, they genuinely all taste like the same to me, and I wish I didn’t have to explain over and over why I don’t like the taste of it.
Old Milwaukee is piss water.
This must be cultural because never happens in the U.K.
IPA haters are worse than cilantro haters. Sorry you have the tastebuds of a preschooler. Enjoy your bud light and chicken tendies, hope the ranch isn’t too spicy.
upvoted because this is a conversation I just can’t imagine occurring
I don’t drink alcohol at all, I’ve only had beer once, when I was like 6 because my grandma left a cup of corona on the counter and I thought it was my apple juice. Never tried it again.
But if alcohol comes up in convo, I don’t need to explain that I specifically don’t like beer, because I don’t like any alcohol! And if someone likes beer, good for them! Idc, you do you, just don’t try to make me try it.
Related: people who call American light beers piss water, water, flavorless, call it “fake beer”, etc., and prefer IPAs.
Dude, it’s just beer. It’s not water you alcoholic. Sorry you “have to drink 30 just to feel something.” When it comes to flavor? It’s subjective. Some like the taste of a cold light beer, others don’t. Some like IPAs, some don’t. Pretending you some how have a superior pallete because you have a different taste is wild. Not every glass of beer has to be a flavor experience full of different flavors and hints of Northern European peat moss. Sometimes people just want to relax and have a few cold ones. Have conversations with your buddies while drinking.
I’ve never, ever had anyone make comments like that to me whilst I was drinking beer. I’m 58.
i think this is a popular opinion.
people who feel their need to interject some irrelevant opinion every time you do something (especially when theres no benefit to all parties for doing so) are all annoying.
same goes for coffee (some people call it brown water), reading non-fiction (‘unserious’ books LMAO), gaming (wasting your time/life) and so on
I’ve literally never experienced this.
It’s normally people who drink very fruity and scented drinks that say this I’ve found. They don’t like woody, smokey or earthy tastes, which is fine because we’re all individual. Just don’t shit on someone elses shine
I love it, less beer to share & more for me.
I dont drink beer anymore (age 61 I rarely drink), but in my younger days we had lots of BBQs with friends, and tubing down rivers and things like that, always drinking beer. I never knew anyone who complained about the taste of beer.
Not once have I actually heard someone criticize the beer drinkers I know.
However, as a man who does not enjoy beer, I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been made fun of for ordering an interesting cocktail BY beer drinkers.
…and if that cocktail ends up coming with a fun garnish/umbrella?
May as well throw my earplugs in immediately.
What country is this? If I, as a man, tell l almost amy other man, that I don’t drink beer, I get insulted or made fun of, because it’s manly to drink beer, and not manly to not. Almost every guy drinks beer in Australia
Come to Germany. Nobody hates on beer here.
