You all been watching too much nature channel and not enough history channel.
Basic math: if you have 100 men, weighing on average 200lbs each, thats 20,000lbs of MAN. Against a 450lbs gorilla. They could literally just dogpile that ape and crush it to death.
Don’t forget stamina. Sure, the gorilla will probably be able to kill 5 or 10 of your men initially through bites and crushing injuries, but how long do you honestly think it can maintain that pace, against a relentless stream of opponents? It will tire and be defeated. This is not some anime gorilla that has magical aura or martial prowess.
You also all forget that, despite appearances, men are pretty fucking smart most of the time. We understand things like eyes are vulnerable. Assign 5 men to go for the eyes. One of them is going to be able to get a good eye poke in. I don’t know if you think this gorilla is immune to pain or fear, but having your eye gouged out usually hurts your ability to fight, doesn’t matter how big you are.
The point of this is that anyone who thinks the gorilla has any chance at all is stupid. They don’t understand what men or gorillas are actually capable of.
You all also conveniently forget that men have hunted gorillas for thousands of years. Maybe not barehanded, but if a group of 5-10 guys with spears and rocks can beat a gorilla, I’m fairly confident that 100 men with nothing but a challenge before them could get the job done.
I’ll do you all one better: aside from creatures like whales and other sea life we can’t fight on the ground, there isnt a single creature alive today that 100 men couldn’t beat. If you’re coordinated and willing to take casualties, the group could take down rhinos, hippos, elephants, anything.
Don’t underestimate the power of men working together. There’s a reason we’re the dominant species on this planet.

100% agree. The men don’t even have to get anywhere near the gorilla. They can literally make noises all day and all night, chase it endlessly, until it collapses from exhaustion. Humans are smart af, and people who think pretty much any amount of gorillas stand a chance against even 5 men underestimate human ingenuity.
The problem is thinking that men are coordinated or brave enough to hold formation and keep charging after they see the gorilla tear through the first few people. Realistically, they will panic and trample over each other trying to get to safety. Running away is always a good survival strategy.
What irks me about it is they think 1 gorilla is soloing that many dudes but the last stupid argument from the internet they were all “nooo a billion lions is a lot numbers is all that matters” as if theres not multiple pokemon that could solo that shit

The amount of blood, piss, and shit mixed with the screams and gurgles of the first few people torn apart and destroyed is enough to make even the toughest/dumbest humans run for their lives and once a chunk of the remaining 100 start running it’s a basic herd mentality to do the same

Have you ever seen someone pull out a knife before? Usually everyone runs away, they dont all say hey lets make a coordinated effort lol
Have you ever seen a martial arts movie? Sure, they fight sometimes hundreds of opponents, but they are always one on one or one on two at the most. In that scenario, the gorilla could win if using the same leaps of faith in the movies. First, gorillas are mostly herbivores. To keep up that level of energy for that long is, of course, impossible. Second, magical healing, some shots are going to get in, and those injuries are going to pile up. No living creature could survive even 1/4 of that damage. Third, and lastly, gorillas are mostly gentle creatures, they look imposing, but they’re mostly bluster. If attacked, like most animals, they will fight, but only until they find the opportunity to escape. Unless we are talking about King Kong, it would be a pretty short fight IRL

You’re kind of stupid for thinking 100 men can all pile on a gorilla at the same time. And people are generally smart but an average person is gonna see a couple guys get their chest cavites collapsed or their head smashed in and freak out.
And the gorilla doesn’t have to kill them. It can very easily and with minimal effort be breaking arms and legs or smashing faces. It takes about 500 lbs of force to break major bones, gorillas exert 1300 to 2700 lbs of force. Especially since most hypotheticals stipulate that it’s an angry and violent gorilla. Because most gorillas would just leave.
All hundred men can’t fight the gorilla at once. Four or five tops could actively attack the gorilla, and the gorilla could take that number easily. Hand to hand? No contest. The gorilla wins against 100 unarmed men.
There’s a reason you keep using caveats like “if they were armed” etc.
I think a group of 100 modern barehanded men would not be willing to sacrifice individually which a few of them would have to do in order for the group to be successful. They’d go running in the other direction and running is also a survival strategy.

The problem is that people are overestimating gorillas. They think gorillas can lift 4000 pounds and throw punches.
A gorilla’s body can’t harness the strength they have in an effective enough way to achieve this feat. They can only beat a man fast with big movements, those little small arm movements are strong but not enough to take a man out of commission quickly. That isn’t good when you’re facing so many opponents. And they get exhausted quickly
Take a gorilla’s strength and durability and give it to a human and that human might have a chance.

So your changing the scenario to be more realistic which naturally is how this plays out(and how it has played out because we have hunted Gorillas to near extinction in real life.
But this is a scenario designed to trigger the idiotic sigma-alpha loons who think their roid-fueled narcissism makes them better then others. Where i have seen it it precludes weapons, and the original one i remember included the Gorilla starting out aggressive so the humans don’t have time to organize.

How many men would make it a balanced fight? I reckon a gorilla would easily get through maybe ten or twelve unarmed average men before it got overwhelmed. No matter how coordinated the men are, the brute strength of the gorilla would be enough to incapacitate them before it would need to go in for the kill.
Everyone would just throw dirt and rocks at its face until it was exhausted or dead.

I get your point but… someone never read sun tzu and it shows. Here’s the thing the gorilla could probably take a good 20 of them, then you start getting moral destroyed, then you get the people that are nope not me f**k that, so your really down to about half at that point. So your really working with like 40 guys. Plus hands and fists only. Not all men charge into battle willing to die, so your realistically at that point really working with like 20 guys. The rest are waiting and seeing if they want to get involved or not. I see what your saying but you don’t understand the human animal that well either.
