Personal items stolen, really want them back.

r/

Hi guys, not sure where I should be posting this. Lost my wallet last night, no idea how and woke up this morning to fraudulent activity on my bank app. Random guy used my debit to send $200 to his cash app. Already reported on Chase and closed my cards etc. but I had a lot of sentimental items like photos, personal stuff in there.

The thing is, his name was in the debit transaction from my account along with what city and everything. I really want to get my stuff back. I know it’s probably a dead end, but a part of me wants to find this person to the end of the earth to get my photos back. If I report this to the police, would I ever possibly get my personal stuff back?

Of course you should report this theft to the police, have you not done so already?

Whether or not the police can find the thief is unknown, but there is the possibility they could if the thief left the information trail you describe. It’s normally a bad idea to try to recover stolen items yourself.

Maybe contact the person, offer a reward???
