I am in a tricky situation. Basically I love research and I have the possibility to apply for a predefined PhD project in the humanities with a supervisor that I really like or look for a job outside of academia (but my dream would be finding a job with a research element to it).
I have to say I am worried that I am not going to enjoy the topic because my research so far has been in other areas and I feel super under qualified and I am not sure if I will develop an interest? What if not?! I have heard that you can change the direction of the project’s topic but obviously it is still going to be in the predefined area. What if I end up hating what I am doing? I think I am overthinking… I feel like it is such a big decision and I am worried I am going to make the wrong one.
Obv. I know that I will have to make the final decision myself I was just wondering if anyone has any advice😩 thank you!
