Hey Reddit, hoping someone can answer a legal question for me. I know I can ask someone more related to law enforcement or legal representation but I’m an incredibly busy parent and want to see if it’s worth my time and I can’t sleep because I feel horribly violated and can’t seem to find anyone to talk to ATM.
So I found out this afternoon that one of my best friends’ boyfriend took photos of me in a bikini while we were having a get together at their house. The thing is, they are photos of only me in this bikini, one of which I am turned around so it’s not like he was taking a nice party picture of my face.
He literally admitted to me via snap that it was for perverted reasons and sent me the pictures in question. I knew absolutely nothing about before he sent them. He also said my friend had discovered them and he used them against her to try and coerce her into admitting she was sending nudes to other people.
I also have been told he’s done similar things before only to my friend, who was passed out and he also did things to her and took photos. I haven’t seen them but only know what I’ve been told… He also sort of admitted to that when I mentioned it today when he messaged me.
I can’t find any information that is helpful for this nuanced of a situation on google. So I guess my question is this: does anyone know if what he did in my case was illegal? Obviously I was not completely naked in the pictures and they do not look intimate in nature without context, but he admitted it was because “I had butt” and he’s “fucked in the head ig.”
This has been driving me crazy all day and I don’t know what to do beyond staying away from him. I also don’t want him having those pictures of me to do God knows what with. This is beyond creepy and I just wish it would not have happened.
