No edition wars or gripings about creators/owners of works. Doylist griping about Star Wars in particular is subject to permanent ban on first offense.
We are not here to discuss or complain about the real world.
Questions about who would prevail in a conflict/competition (not just combat) fit better on r/whowouldwin. Questions about very open-ended hypotheticals fit better on r/whatiffiction.
The anime has different rules. Lots of factors can alter Pokemon appearance, and it’s not that wild to see something like a Pink Butterfree in the wild. There’s still proper shiny Pokémon, with the sparkles and everything, but aside from enthusiasts, people just see them as cool and rare.
People are mostly interested in earning Pokemon’s respect and being their friends than in their color, though. The color is just interesting.
I’d compare them to albino/melanistic animals in real life. They are rare oddities, but we understand that it’s just a visual difference.
Most breeders focus on stats and abilities and whatnot, since that is relevant to all trainers. However, some found success in the small/dedicated market of shiny hunters.
