Polar opposite political views

r/

My husband and I are in our early 30s and have been together for 17 years. When we were younger, I remember my husband pushing me to always vote and taking me with him whenever he went. What I don’t remember is how bad we argued over what we were voting for. Still today, he pushes me to vote with him even though we know going in that 8/10 of our votes are going to cancel eachother out lol. Pretty much the 2020 election started to show us how strongly we felt about our views. We both think eachother is ridiculous in our views, borderline idiotic. We’ve gotten really horrible towards eachother over politics and at this point try to avoid the topic like the plague but it’s EVERYWHERE. Please give me some advice how to handle our extreme differences? The older generation has dealt with a slew of horrible political things and seemed to stick it out and love eachother (mostly 🥲)
