public proposals are more about attention than love.

r/

i never understood the obsession with public proposals.
to me, it feels more like a performance than an actual intimate moment between two people.
when someone proposes in front of a crowd, with cameras out and strangers watching, it’s not just about you anymore …. it’s about the audience, the reaction, the spectacle.

don’t get me wrong, i’m all for celebrating love. but why does something so personal have to be turned into a social media event?
it adds pressure, especially on the person being proposed to. like, what if they’re not ready or they want to say no? do they just smile and nod because everyone’s cheering?

and let’s be honest …. half of the time, these over-the-top proposals are more about getting that “viral moment” than the actual relationship.
a quiet, private proposal can be just as special, if not more. no fancy setup, no audience, just two people who love each other being real.

Public proposals lowkey feel like clout-chasing more than actual love. If you need a crowd to say yes, maybe it ain’t that deep to begin with.
