About 20 years ago I was in 6th grade, I’ve always been a small man but never really had issues with bullies.
Except this one overweight tall bully, we’ll call him Mike.
Mike and I had English class together and we both got sat next to each other in the front of the room. Without fail, everytime the teacher would turn around to write something on the board, he would punch me in the arm as hard as he could. My arm would go numb by the end of class. It was my non dominant arm luckily. He never got caught and I told him to stop but he was twice my size so he never stopped. I told my parents, who are very kind and caring, so my mother said the bully probably has a tough life at home and I should try to be nice to him. Way to take the high road mom.
We also had gym class together and one day we get put on opposite teams, for dodgeball.
Now I played baseball and other sports while Mike played video games and ate junk food.
Normal revenge would be pelting him with a ball so he would be out. But I wanted to inflict pain on him as he had been punching me in class all semester.
He’s standing near the halfcourt line, which is basically the closest he can get to the opposite team. I have no idea why you would do that in dodgeball but big bullies think they are invincible.
I’m small and sneak around some teammates in an attempt to blindside him. I’m probably 20 feet away from him about to throw my dodgeball as hard as I can.
I just so happen to have relatively good aim, so I throw it right as his throat, as hard as I possibly could.
I drilled his freaking Adam’s Apple.
He drops his dodgeball, falls to his knees grabbing his throat like he just swallowed a ghost pepper. He’s literally coughing, on his hands and knees. I thought he was gonna barf! Gym teacher just says “Mike you got hit, your out, get off the court”.
I was SO HAPPY.
He came up to me in our other class later that day and says in a very weak and raspy voice “drummer boy, you hit me right in the throat during dodgeball and it hurts so much, i can barely talk”
I simply turned to him and said “you’re supposed to dodge the balls”
He never punched my arm again. He also was captain of dodgeball teams later that week and guess who he picked 1st for his team 😂
Idk if it’s petty or just straight up vengeance but the feeling of hitting someone in the throat with a dodgeball is one I won’t soon forget.

Good on you. He respected you after you hurt him. You were speaking his language, and unfortunately it’s probably the only language he understood.

I was on the tennis team in high school and the son of one of the teachers at my school started harassing us on the tennis court one day. No matter how much we asked him to stop It went on and on and on. Finally I picked up a rock and served it like a tennis ball at him. I wasn’t really even aiming but that rock sailed across the court, through the fence and hit him right in the forehead!
He ran off crying and we waited in terror for the teacher to arrive and lay into us. He never came and never said a word about it. The kid also stopped showing up to harass us at practice.

What is this cartoonish ass story, what was he looking straight up? A tall big bully that also has a giraffe neck like think about the size of a dodge ball and the force required to cause trachea or larynx damage from 20 ft away without hitting chin or chest, this is so unrealistic you saw this in a cartoon.
That was a lucky shot. I would have aimed a couple feet lower.

Sadly, the only way to deal with bullies if adults won’t stop them is to make them suffer. Your bully deserved getting hit by the ball, and you cleverly found a way to do it and not get in trouble.
Hahah I had a similar occurrence in early high school. This kid was assigned to sit next to me and would constantly steal my pens, mess with my textbooks, etc. and was trying to bully me for whatever reason. The second he went to the bathroom one time I flipped his backpack inside out and ziptied all his belongings on the inside. He never messed with me again, and we became friends after that lol

In second grade, a bully and his friends would chase me every recess. EVERY recess. I was bigger than the other kids, but I didn’t fight.
One day, he and his pack of howler monkeys cornered me, and he decided to act tough and said “Go ahead, free shot.” So I took his arm, looked at it for a second, and then completely dislocated it.
Friends, he howled. HOWLED. We got in line to go back to class soon after and tattled to the teacher (who knew full well I was being bullied the whole time), and she just helped him pop it back into place and left me alone.
He never bothered me again. It was great.

By the 2010s they’re foam and you can’t even throw them 20 feet without a nonexistent breeze throwing it off course.
I taught my kids “If someone hits you, hit them back twice as hard”.
It doesn’t matter if you get beat up later (you probably won’t) or if you get in trouble from the teacher (you probably will). But we will always have your back. And anyone who considers hitting you again will have second thoughts or not do it at all (almost always the case). Bullies hit people who don’t hit back

Reminds me of my a story my mom always tells. She broke her gym teacher’s (young guy, like closer to high school age) nose in dodgeball. He was very unprofessional and creepy and would always make comments about her. One day she told him off and he spread some kind of rumor about her. When she found out he’s the one who said something, she went against him in dodgeball and wanted to inflict some pain, but she didn’t expect she’d break his nose!
Kid kicked me in the face at preschool. Next day I threw a chunk of wood on his head. Oops! Bad aim…
