Step 1, call poison control to ask about how to safely clean your dishes after this. I am not an expert so I am not going to suggest anything else.
Step 2, call pest control. For every roach you see there are 100 more you don’t.
While wearing gloves (nitrile gloves), wash out the dishwasher using something like dawn dish soap, run it on empty. If the SD pray got on the dishes, you might want to wash off the residue from them as well.
I would probably dispose of anything plastic or porous it got on, personally, rather than risk it.
To kill roaches, I usually add honey to baking soda. Ever since a particular neighbor moved in a couple years ago, every few months I’ll see a roach. The baking soda only kills the roaches that eat it, but is safe for us and pets.
diatomaceous earth and boric acid can be used, but aren’t safe like baking soda is. I get food safe diatomaceous earth and spread it around areas.
Boric Acid is better in that it gets carried back to the nest and kills more roaches. You can set it out in areas away from pets, people and food.
Roaches exist outside. So they will come inside on occasion. Usually, though, by the time you see one, you have a lot of them.
Do not put dawn soap in the dishwasher as that other user recommended. It can destroy your dishwasher
Can you run a rinse cycle on your dishwasher?
Just run the damn thing
Just run the cycle twice to be safe.
It will be fine. If you’re worried, run just a rinse cycle first and then a normal cycle
Just run the dishwasher like you normally would. No need to panic. That bit of roach spray will wash right away.
A friend of mine has dealt with raid in the dishwasher. A family member was fighting roaches perceived to come from it and sprayed raid in it. They ran the dishwasher as usual. IT MADE THEM SICK.
I would unload the dishwasher. Then run a full cycle with dishwasher soap like normal. Then reload the dishwasher and run as normal.
