Rapunzel , Rapunzel CUT OFF ALL YOUR HAIR!

r/

My N mom is actually so OBSESSED with my hair it’s ridiculous. Nonstop hair cuts as a child because I “couldn’t take care of my hair” meanwhile my N mom was BALDING & covered it up with wigs. I’m convinced that N parents view their children as COMPETITION so they find subtle ways to upstage you & knock you down a peg or two.

Mine was a hairdresser. She’s been retired for almost 30 years, but she still makes remarks about my hair.

I used to get a lot of shit for being the only one going bald. So I did what any sane person does…I embraced it. Hard to shame me for it when I’m getting it buzzed to a #0.

She loved my natural color so much. She hated my long hair so as soon as the adoption date was set when I was 10, she chopped it. When I grew taller than her,I decided to keep it shorter so her short self couldn’t pull it to bring me down to her level. She always had really short hair and never showed me how to do my hair or manage it longer. When I grew out my bangs (early 20’s before going nc) she had a conniption!!! I legit thought she would birth a cow. 🤣😂 I looked like I was 12 with bangs, which I’m sure she loved… made her appear younger.

I had the same thing, she had me get RIDICULOUS haircuts as a child I would be bullied relentlessly for because I ‘couldnt take care of it properly’ (ie. She never taught me how, even though I have the same hair type as her) the minute she stopped ‘making me’ get it cut no one touched it for 8 years until I shaved it all off. When I was a teenager she REFUSED to let me straighten it because ‘it will damage it’ but the moment I did – ‘i’m so glad you’re ‘finally starting to put effort into your appearance.’ Now I do whatever the hell I want with it but I still have a MAJOR complex about other people touching/making comments about it.

Mind cut her my super long hair into a short chin length bob at 5-6, out of spite! I remember she couldn’t brush or style it because of how long and thick it was so she just toke me to salon and cut it. Fart forward I get to college and I decide to cut my hair short and change up my look, she moans at every opportunity that “i look less attractive with short hair” or “why did you cut! It wont grow back the same” meanwhile my mom always a bob for as long as i remember 🤷🏻‍♀️ its all double standards and hypocrisy
