Hey guys, I’m a 20 year old who has literally never
even been pulled over before. I got pulled for reckless driving today, I was hoping it’d be just a speeding ticket but my google maps lied to me about the speed limit as it sometimes does so I was 20 over (93 in a 60, Google told me it was a 75) shouldn’t have been going that fast but regardless, my court date is set in two months, I assume I should get a lawyer but I’ve never been to court before so maybe traffic violations are something you can do yourself. Any advice is welcome, thank you in advance.

You’ve been criminally charged—yes, you need a criminal defense attorney.
Sounds like you need a traffic lawyer to help you out on this.
93 in a 60 is 33 over, so I’m not sure where the “20 over” number you reference comes from. For future reference there is not a single road in NC with a speed limit over 70 miles an hour, and even if the speed limit was 75, 93 is still nearly 20 over.
You need a lawyer, your speed is a misdemeanor in and of itself, and a reckless driving charge adds another misdemeanor charge.
