R/Conservative is definitely up there for me. They cannot conceive if the idea someone might disagree with them. I’ve seen them turn on their own members over things
I forget what it was called but I stumbled upon a redit full of schizophrenic people who all thought their neighbors and people around them where trying to use mind control devices on them. And all the comments would afirm their beliefs and make it worse. Wish I could find it again
My Reddit experience has become so much more peaceful since I muted TwoXChromosomes. The level of casual gender based bigotry there is wild. Just remember, about half of the people in the world are genetically evil.
The worst one I can actually remember visiting is probably politicalcompassmemes. There were a lot of far-right assholes. There are worse ones that I’ve heard about though, like jailbait (pedophile subreddit), fatpeoplehate (bully subreddit), and the_donald (Trump fan subreddit)
A subreddit about people fantasizing about cutting their dicks off. And very few actually doing it and posting videos. Two posts that are seared into my memory are (NSFW warning)

How can a subreddit made for the actor of Dune be so bad ? Bare with me here.
Timothée has a LOT of women fans. And who says women fans says parasocial relationships – girls Who genuienly think he would fall in love with them if they got to meet at a red carpet event.
Sole problem is, Timothée is not single anymore. He has a girlfriend of 2 years – Kylie Jenner. (She was previously dating rapper Travis Scott with whom she has 2 biracial children.)
Ever since, his fans have been consumed by rage and jealousy. So much so that they now HATE him : organizing in LA to throw acid on them, openly wishing death, calling Kylies 2 kids the n-word.
Worst one, imo, is that Timothees sister recently gave birth. Well, that infant became the new target of these deranged fans. Saying this newborn is already a wh-re like Kylie and saying she started having d-ck in her l-ttle m-uth to practice. (I know i dont need to censor anything on Reddit, but actually writing those about a baby makes me want to vomit.)
Maybe in a different way to all the other responses, r/korea. The people there are delusional, it’s not even funny. Anything remotely dismissive of Korea or its government is met with hordes of super nationalist crazies that believe every lie told by its government. Just look through the comments and see.
I thought r/japanlife was bad, but it’s on another level
I don’t know if it’s still there but the dead bedrooms sub is fucking miserable. I had an alt in there ~7 years ago and it’s just full of people stuck in dead relationships, telling each other to leave and no one ever does. I went there looking for advice on my own relationship but it just depressed me.
I’ve never seen a post in trollcoping that hasn’t made me go “bro you need a therapist.” And every time I see the teachers subreddit I’m reminded of the post where someone said “yeah I’d let all my students die” and got highly upvoted
R/bitcoin
They are hilariouy delusional.
They say Bitcoin is free from government control while happy when X country is creating “Bitcoin reserve”, call existing currencies scam because of inflation and only Bitcoin can hold its value because it is “limited”. They shit on “sheeps” when Bitcoin prices soar and lick each others’ wound and say stuff like “Bitcoin’s our only chance to escape the matrix!”.
Prior to the banning of most of the mainstream incel-oriented subreddits, there was a smaller ban wave of the most extreme ones. Talking more than 11 years ago, before the idea of “incels” really hit mainstream at all, just existing on here and 4chan mostly. For a time there was sub called “trucels” which was a more intense and extreme version of the main incel subreddit. It got banned not long after I stumbled across it but I’ll never forget finding it, I clicked a link to it in a random comment and looked at the post on top of the page that day. It was a user suggesting that society would be better if women were kept on large farms, bred to have large breasts/backsides, and existed for the sole purpose of being either sold or rented out to men. I wondered if it was a joke and looked at the comments and a few other posts. Nope.
That place got banned, a few years later Reddit started cracking down more on spaces like that. I’ve seen far worse and more hateful posts (and actions) by self-described incels. But for whatever reason, that post has stuck with me. I think it was the casual tone of the post, with people piping up to agree.
I’ve never seen a more pathetic lot. It’s basically the incel sub again but for Asians, mainly Asian-American, so with a dash of ultranationalism and racism thrown into the mix.
They’re not wrong that Asian American men have faced a lot of racism, especially in media depictions, and that Asian American women themselves have played a role in perpetuating negative stereotypes about them but holy shit they’re sooo hyper focused on Asian women dating anyone who’s not Asian. Their “concern” for racism against Asian men starts and stops at them getting laid.
Different vibe from the rest of the answers here, but r/funny is a terrific example of how, if you democratize a sense of humor via upvotes and downvotes, the most wretchedly unfunny, lowest-common-denominator, sub-Facebook slop will rise to the top.

Redpill, twoxchromosomes, and female dating strategy all for the same reason, just different targets of their hatred.

Oh sweet summer children, I was here before the digg migration. This place used to be wild wild west.

Nothing against people that choose not to have kids, it’s not for everyone, but holy fuck there’s some toxic motherfuckers on that sub.

It’s gone now but the incel sub was awful.

If you don’t 200% buy into that cult, you’re muted or banned with no warning. I say this as an atheist.
