Reduce your cancer risk by 100x, but increase others by 100x

r/

A new treatment comes out and is being offered for free to all citizens by your government.

If you take it, your lifetime cancer risk falls 100x, but anyone you come into contact with (meaning, touch them, or cough or sneeze near them), who hasn’t had the treatment becomes 100x more likely to get cancer.

The treatment wouldn’t work retrospectively for them after this.

Would you take it?

Th treatment wouldn’t work for them after they come into contact with me or after I take the treatment?

No. Not even for 500 billion dolllars.

Provided everyone can be given the treatment, and around the same time so there aren’t a lot of people getting cancer in the interim while the population gets treated, obviously. If I can guarantee the people I care about all get the treatment with me, I’d still do it.

It’s not even a question, I’m not going to be concerned with what would be the equivalent of anti-vaxxers when I can reduce my own and loved ones chance of terminal illness.
