This Tuesday, I will hopefully kickstart my law enforcement career by doing a ride along. It’s my first time doing one and I’m a little nervous. I’ll be moving back home after I graduate college in three weeks, so I don’t think I would be applying to this particular department. What are some good questions I should ask as a potential LEO? I figured asking about their pursuit policy and if they have a say in what they carry what be a good start. I’m trying to decide between the PD and FD if that helps. Thanks

Just go FD.
If you dont take that advice you can ask those questions but your response but your answers will be short and will vary between every single agency in the US.
Try for more insightful questions to help you figure out if the job is for you and they type of agency you want to go for.
Such as what they like/dislike the most about the job, whats difficult about it etc and expand from there. Honestly youll find many of those answers on here but it may be different to hear 1st hand.
If the officer did any specialty positions you can ask more about those and what those entail. Depends who you get put with.
